One week beforehand, we were busy with a series of activities in preparation for the big day. Entering the bus was treated with a thorough check and stopovers. You might think we were going to see the Pope in Rome.

One week beforehand, we were busy with a series of activities in preparation for the big day. Entering the bus was treated with a thorough check and stopovers. You might think we were going to see the Pope in Rome.

On arrival at St. Katherine (S.K) the girls’ ululations and merriment filled the ambiance of the school. The college boys were very smart in their black uniform trousers and white long-sleeved shirts.

We planted trees and shared Rotary ideas of charity and service above self. We were treated to a luncheon at the school dining hall and entertainment. The students of Teso College Aloet showed off their talent in music and dance during the entertainment portion of the event. The “Go Down Low” hit left revelers wondering if we had brought along with us Pallaso, the Ugandan artist from the Kampala Ghettos. Cameras were flashing east and west like lightning as the boys displayed their talents on the floor.

We thank the school administration and the Rotary Club-Soroti for our wonderful outing.
